During the semester:
Participation (20%): interakctive work in seminars, engaging in exercices, discusion, formulationg questions on the topic. Elaborate/make five meeting protocols.
Behavioral intervention (30%): implementing environmental strategy for the better life style and quality of mikro/mezo/makro environment. Elaborate/make final report of process, results and effect of the method.
Mini-projects (30%): Elaborate/make three mini-projects in the form of pilot search, including own environmental autobiography.
Academic essay (20%): written expert essay elaborated according to set criteria.

A = 94 – 100 bodov = 1
B = 86 – 93 bodov = 1,5
C = 76 – 85 bodov = 2
D = 66 – 75 bodov = 2,5
E = 56 – 65 bodov = 3
FX = 0 – 55 bodov = 4
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The aim of the subject is to broaden the knowledge about the behavior of the person and its relationship to the environment in the theoretical and methodological context; also in terms of environmental ethics, attitudes, values and personal responsibility towards common home. Single topics of the subject present the issue of the environmental perception and cognition, living, personal space and privacy, specific types of the environments and others. The graduate of the subject will acquire the skills necessery for the analysis, synthesis and critical evaluation of the theoretical knowledge, research findings and environmental strategies considering to the environment; can reflect the impact of the environment to the personal and community space, take a stand on the urgent issues of the world and human ecology and design research strategies to these topics.
Course contents:
1.Theoretical basics of the environmental psychology. Subject and definition of environment psychology. Impact of human geography, behavioral geography and architecture.
2.Environmental psychology and tradition of the gestalt psychology, social psychology and ecological psychology.
3.Values and attitudes towards the environment. Environmental attitudes and feeling sercurity. Environmental ethics – ecological ethics - human ecology.
4.Human and the environment transaction. Environmental dispositional structures of the person.
5.Environmental perception. Perception and cognitive environment schematization. Cognitive maps.
6.Personal space and privacy. Structure and types of personal space organization. Personal space in the digital age. Flat – house – home.
7.Place concept. Fenomenology of the place. Place identity. Place attachment. Place dependence.
8.Territoriality. Neighbohood. Community. Psychology of the home.
9.Environmental stress. Models of the environmental stress. Factors affecting stress reaction. Environmental stressors and risks.
10.Architectural, urbanist and rural elements of the environment. Specific types of the evironment: residential, working, educational, recreational, community, urban, rural.
11.Design and evaluate the environment. Impact of the technological inovations and environmental design.
12.Development, trends and the future direction of the environmental psychology. Responsibility of the common home. Integral ecology.
