Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The goal is to teach students modern techniques for information protection by its transmission, processing and storing in connection with Cloud technology applications.
Course contents:
1. Information protection, Privacy, law and economical aspects;
2. Finite Fields;
3. Operations in Finite Fields;
4. No binary linear block codes;
5. RS codes encoding and decoding via solutions of equations;
6. Practical applications of RS codes: Digital Television;
7. Practical applications of RS codes: RAI, memory systems;
8. Convolutional codes;
9. Viterbi algorithm;
10. Turbo-codes and Belief Propagation algorithm;
11. LDPC codes Belief Propagation algorithm;
12. Network Coding.
