Students‘ results are evaluated according to the classification specified in official faculty documents:
a) A - 94 - 100% excellent (PASS) = 1
b) B - 86 – 93 % very good (PASS) = 1,5
c) C - 76 – 85 % good (PASS) = 2
d) D - 66 – 75 % satisfactory (PASS) = 2,5
e) E - 56 – 65 % sufficient (PASS) = 3
f) FX - 0 – 55 % insufficient (FAIL)= 4.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Teach students the basic principle of running logic circuits, function modules, processor, operating memory, central unit, input-output unit, computing models, and modern computing approaches. After completing the course, students must theoretically know the principles as well as practically simulate basic operations and connect and program simple tasks for microcontrollers.
Course contents:
1. Introduction and History of Computers
2. Numerical systems and Data representation in computers
3. Basic arithmetic-logic operations and How the computer works
4. Fundamentals of digital systems, logic circuits and state machines
5. Synchronous and asynchronous circuits, multi-state logic, gambling. Bus, register, decoder, multiplexer, stack, queue.
6. Computer memory, management and virtual memory
7. Processing instructions and data in computers
8. Processors, Graphics Cards and Computing
9. Industry 4.0, IoT, MCU and MPU
10. Communication means for IoT
11. Conclusion, repetition, test requirements, discussion
