Assessment methods:
Active participation in seminars, during the semester students will prepare selected case studies, semester work, which they present. At the end, they will pass a written exam.

Individual grades of the credit system qualification scale are awarded on the basis of scoring, which reflects the degree of success of the course completion as follows:
A = 94 - 100 % = 1
B = 86 - 93 % = 1.5
C = 76 - 85 % = 2
D = 66 - 75 % = 2.5
E = 56 - 65 % = 3
FX = 0 - 55 % = 4
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Explain the essence of strategic management in the various phases of the company life cycle, with an emphasis on developing the ability of strategic thinking and student behavior. To present the latest developments in the theory of strategic management, as well as to verify case studies by applying current, especially top-level, managerial practices by solving case studies. To acquire skills in the formulation, formulation, selection, and implementation of the strategy.
Course contents:
1.Introduction to strategic business management. Strategy as a factor of success, the essence of strategy
2.History of strategic management and strategic thinking
3. Strategic management process, industrial organization model and the resource-based model
4.Vision, mission and strategic goals as starting points for strategy
5. Strategic analysis - analyzes of external environment: macro-environment analysis
6. Strategic analysis - analyzes of external environment: analysis of competitive forces in the sector
7. Strategic analysis - analyzes of internal environment: analysis of company resources, portfolio analyzes, value chain analysis
8. Strategic synthesis - SWOT analysis (matrix EFE, IFE), matrix SPACE
9. Creation of competitive strategy, traditional and new approaches
10. Strategies in functional areas - marketing, personnel, manufacturing, financial, technical.
11. Strategy implementation and Strategic control
12. Strategic leadership
